I am switching over to FrontPage from
SiteBuilder. Where do I find help files for this?
SBI!'s Upload Your Own HTML module supports pages that
are created in Microsoft's FrontPage. However, the FrontPage
Editor supports certain functionality that is unique to
itself. SBI! is not compatible with FrontPage Extensions,
which are a security risk, with holes that have not yet been
patched.
Instructions on how to use the Upload Your Own HTML
feature are found in the SiteBuilder section of Site Central
under One Page at a Time.
The specific help URLs to get you up and running are...
http://build.sitesell.com/help/central/new-user.html
http://build.sitesell.com/help/add-your-own-help.html
http://build.sitesell.com/help/add-your-own-rules.html
For specific information on how to use FrontPage and SBI!
together, please see the following helpful article in the
Tips and Techniques HQ...
http://sbitips.sitesell.com/front-page-help.html
Another excellent resource is the For Tech Types
SBI! Forum. SBIers generously share tips and
provide assistance whenever they can.

Can I use SiteBuilder pages and uploaded HTML pages together? How do I transition from using the SiteBuilder to uploading my own HTML pages?
Yes, you can create some pages using the SiteBuilder and
also upload some of your own HTML pages. This is especially
helpful for those pages where you would like to add specific
elements through your HTML editor.
Using the combination together also smoothes the transition
from SiteBuilder to the Upload Your Own HTML Feature.
For information about how to make the transition from the
SiteBuilder to uploading your own HTML page, please
see...
http://sbitips.sitesell.com/transition.html
Tip: Before you make the transition, consider this
option. Another SBIer continues to use both SiteBuilder and
an HTML editor to build his pages. This is an excellent
"in-between" transition step. In fact, you may not ever
want to move beyond it! He explains the process here...
http://sbitips.sitesell.com/transition-combo.html
Please keep in mind that Customer Support is not able to
assist with HTML coding questions or concerns. For most
things, SBIers in the HTML Forum will be able to help
you...

Do you place a limit on uploaded media file size?
We do place a cap on the media folder of 100MB. SBIers are
allowed unlimited bandwidth, if the bandwidth is from
traffic, not from people downloading music or viewing
movies.
SBI! was never intended to be used as a media server. It
builds businesses!
If you need more than 100MB of media files on an urgent
need basis, Support can temporarily remove the limit. This
will give you time to find a media server that can
accommodate your space requirements for these files and set
up links on your SBI! site to this server.
Please contact Support for further assistance...

Can I use audio on my site?
SBI! supports the following media file types...
.mpg, .qt, .avi, .rm, .mp3, .wav, and .wmf
Site Build It! is compatible with both major Web site audio
services, SonicMemo and AudioGenerator. If you are currently
using SBI!'s Upload Your Own HTML feature, we recommend
SonicMemo as it is significantly cheaper than
AudioGenerator. There is one caveat though. Integration on
your site is somewhat more involved.
For more audio details, please see..
http://sbitips.sitesell.com/web-site-audio.html
For instructions on how to use SonicMemo on your
site, please see this help file...

Why does Analyze It! not like my first 90 characters?
More than likely, the added HTML code at the top of your
page is a source of confusion for Analyze It!. Because it
does not see your Specific Keyword near the beginning, it is
suggesting that you fix this page element.
Search Engines, however, will not care about this added
code. Their spiders will ignore it, and instead focus their
attention on your page's text.
So what does this mean for you? Good news! It's not
necessary to delete the extra coding at the top of your
page. As long as your Specific Keyword is within the first
90 characters of your actual text, you can disregard Analyze
It!'s error message, if you wish.

How do I add an image to my home page?
Adding an image to your home page can be done easily by
adding some simple HTML wherever you'd like your graphic to
appear.
The process is very straightforward...
1) Name and upload the image file that you want to use to
your Graphic Library at Site Central.
2) Type the image source code into the appropriate text box
of your home page, following this format...
<img SRC="http://www.yourdomain.com/images/FILENAME">
Please note...
a) yourdomain.com -- enter your domain here.
b) Filename is the filename of the image file that you
uploaded to your Graphic Library, not the description that
you gave it.
Please see the Tips 'N Techniques HQ for a quick
illustration...
http://sbitips.sitesell.com/image-on-home.html
An extra tip...
Here is how you can find the filename of your image...
1) Log into Site Central...
http://login.sitesell.com/
2) Scroll down to the SiteBuilder section. In the Libraries
category, click the Graphic Library button. This
will display the Graphic Manager with a list of all the
images in your Graphics Library.
3) Find the image that you wish to display on your home page
in the Graphic Manager. Click the Image Name and then click
the Preview link beside it. A page will pop up that
displays your image.
4) Right-click the image and select Properties.
5) You can then highlight the full URL for your image and
copy and paste that image's location.

I would like to add my own HTML to the pages I build with SiteBuilder. Is this possible?
If done properly, added code will work flawlessly.
SiteBuilder can interpret HTML, Javascript, etc.
However, please note:
HTML consulting is outside the assistance scope of our
Support staff. A great deal of time and expertise is
required when an HTML problem arises. It bears more
responsibility and expertise than a Support staff member is
trained to deliver.
Like any other Web host, it is not economically or
practically feasible for us to act as HTML consultants. Nor
can we provide support for your HTML Editor software. If we
were to provide this kind of service, we'd have to charge
for it, just to cover the infinite possible questions that
could arise on how to achieve a variety of
HTML effects.
So what do you do when you need help with your HTML?
We don't want you to be left out there, up a creek without a
paddle either! So, here are several excellent options to
help you if/when you get stuck...
1)The SBI! Forums
http://forums.sitesell.com/
This is a great place for people to come to help and be
helped. Before you post, please be considerate of the group
and review the various threads to see if one already covers
your particular question. If not, post your question.
Some friendly, helpful and EXPERIENCED SBIer will likely
chip in shortly. You will find many knowledgeable and savvy
users in the forums who are willing to help. And, of course,
do pay the favor forward...
Help someone else out.
2) SBI! Coaching
SBI! Coaching is where you get personalized one-on-one help
in using SBI! to its fullest potential ... it's all about
Do-It-Yourself but not "do it alone". SBI! Coaches provide
the guidance and instruction you need to get up and running
as quickly as possible. SBI! Coaches know SBI!, use SBI!
every day and can cut your learning time dramatically.
The SBI! Coaching Program provides one-on-one help with
consulting-type questions that are outside the scope of the
internal SiteSell Support team.

3) SiteSell Services Division
The Specialists working with SiteSell Services have passed
rigorous qualifications and are available to help you build
your entire site. For more information on this complete

4) Web resources

HTML Goodies
http://www.htmlgoodies.com
Web Monkey
http://www.webmonkey.com/reference/HTML_Cheatsheet
Specialized Web resources and text books are most
appropriate for those who want to get into HTML and the more
technical side of site-building. There is no need with SBI!
to become an advanced HTML expert. Actually, you can get by
quite well with knowing nothing more than the bold tag! But
if you are so inclined, the above URLs should get you
started!
All in all, even though we cannot support HTML directly,
we've got you covered for any HTML issue that may arise.

How can I upload a PDF file to my site? ( I am using SiteBuilder.)
Some SBIers offer free books or reports (PDF format) as a
way to entice subscriptions to their e-zine or as a
thank-you gift. Uploading PDF files and other support files
is easy. You'll find complete instructions on how to upload and link to your pdf and media files in this article...
http://sbitips.sitesell.com/get-a-pdf-into-sbi.html
You may be prompted to login with your SBI! login. Should you have any difficulties during the process, please contact Support...

What is the best way to add HTML to the pages that I build with SiteBuilder?
We highly recommend that you compose your page in a Text
Editor, and then copy-and-paste your content into the
appropriate SiteBuilder blocks on the page. Here's why...
1) It's easier to work in a Text Editor than in those teeny
boxes.
2) For security reasons, the 5 Pillar Club times out after 4
hours. Unless your work is saved, you'll lose it when you
time out.
3) If you use curly quotes or apostrophes or other word-
processor type fanciness, you'll get weird symbols. So save
your text entries as a straight ASCII text file -- you'll
see this option when you select FILE > SAVE AS.
Bottom line... draft each entry in your Text Editor. Then
just copy-and-paste. Easy as pie.
Additional information is available in the Tips 'N
Techniques HQ (under the Building A Page
section). These two articles are particularly relevant to
your question...

Will SiteBuilder accept non-English
characters?
Yes, you can insert non-English characters into the BlockBuilder. Just type or copy-and-paste the characters directly into the Text blocks.

Page/Site using SBI! SiteBuilder section of the TNT HQ...

Who can help me with my HTML code?
Support cannot assist with added HTML code
issues as this type of consulting is outside the bounds of
Customer Support.
A great deal of time and expertise is required for answers
of this kind, and it bears more responsibility than our
Support staff is allowed to have. However, we can recommend
some great resources, some of them free, to help you out.
1) If you have not already done so, please visit the
official Site Build It! Forums. The Forums are a
free help and be helped resource where SBIers meet to
pick up and share new ideas, provide advice, etc.
http://forums.sitesell.com/
Log into the Forums with your regular username and
password.
Scroll down to the SITEBUILDING Forum. This is where
you will find helpful HTML tips and resources.
Feel free to post your own query under the appropriate
category -- some friendly, helpful and experienced SBIer
will likely chip in shortly. You will find many
knowledgeable and savvy users in the Forums who are willing
to help.
And... if you have a good idea, suggestion, or
comment, please return the favor to the forums -- help
someone else out.
2) The following resources may be appropriate for your
needs...
HTML Goodies
http://www.htmlgoodies.com/
Web Monkey
http://www.webmonkey.com/reference/HTML_Cheatsheet
3) SBI! Coaching
SBI! Coaching is where you get personalized one-on-one help

The SBI! Coaching Program provides one-on-one help with
consulting-type questions that are outside the scope of the

http://coaching.sitesell.com/
4) And finally, there is our SiteSell Services Division to consider...
http://services.sitesell.com/
The Specialists working with SiteSell Services have passed
rigorous qualifications and are available to help you build
your entire site.
Forums... Coaching... SiteSell Services. There is a
level of consultation for your question.
Our Support staff specializes in great support for SBI!. We
would be doing no one a favor to try to consult in
business-related matters. Our Support staff do not supply,
support, nor debug added code (JavaScript, HTML, etc.).
Adding code is at your own discretion and it's your
responsibility. That said, if done properly it will work
flawlessly. SiteBuilder can interpret HTML, JavaScript, etc.
with no problems. If you use FrontPage, Dreamweaver or any
other WYSIWYG HTML Editor, please clean all the proprietary
tags or extensions. Otherwise, this will cause errors when
SBI! is reading the code.
Please note: The code between the HEAD tags of
SiteBuilder pages cannot be modified. If you need to gain
access to the code between the HEAD tags, create your
entire page in HTML and then upload it through the Upload
Your Own HTML Feature at Site Central. (Click on
Upload your own HTML page button in the SiteBuilder
section for more details.)

What should I do when I don't want one of the pages that I built (using my HTML Editor) to be submitted?
In order to let SBI! know that you do not want this specific
page to be submitted, all you have to do is add this tag...
<META NAME='ROBOTS' CONTENT='NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW'>
... into the HTML between <HEAD> and </HEAD> tags.
Please copy-and-paste this code exactly when you
are building your page and all will be fine. Any
difference will cause SBI! to submit the page in
regular fashion, so please be careful and avoid
disappointment.
